On Christmas Day, Beyoncé took the stage for a halftime show during the Houston Texans and Baltimore Ravens’s game. It was the super star’s first-ever live performance of her Cowboy Carter material and it brought the house down. She was wearing all white as she rode in on a white horse singing “16 Carriages,” before joining her massive band and backup dancing crew on the field.
The star then announced…something.
On X, just after the performance, Beyoncé shared a clip of herself on a horse, once again dressed all in white with a white cowboy hat and fringe coat, waving a huge American flag while dramatic music played. The date “1.14.25” then flashed on the screen.
That Beyoncé might announce major news had been rumored for a while. On Monday, December 23, a source told The Sun that the Renaissance singer had been planning to kick off a tour in Los Angeles in March.
“It’s been a very tough few months for Beyoncé but she’s laser focused on making her upcoming tour a success,” said the insider. “The next few weeks are crucial as she will announce a new album and a new tour. The announcement was supposed to happen a couple of weeks ago but it was pushed back…The tour she’s planning is nothing short of spectacular, as is the album.”
However, the announcement wasn’t specific in terms of whether a new album or tour or other possible release could be expected.
Ahead of her performance, Beyoncé playfully teased potential technical difficulties, an issue that streaming platform Netflix has had in the past with popular live events. In the promo video, she stands on a football field while playing “Texas Hold ‘Em” on a banjo. But then, about 20 seconds in, the red buffering circle appears.
Luckily, her fans weren’t disappointed and now have even more to look forward to from their fav this coming year.
