Taylor Swift and Brittany Mahomes have become fast friends during Sunday games in the VIP box. Swift’s new boyfriend Travis Kelce is on the field with Brittany’s husband Patrick Mahomes and they have been spending time together watching their guys win games and at after parties and even dinners that have nothing to do with football. A source tells TMZ that the friendship isn’t for the cameras or convenience—they’ve actually exchanged their personal phone numbers.
The digit exchange happened way back on September 24, when Swift attended her first Kansas City Chiefs game at Arrowhead Stadium and they’ve been texting ever since. They’ve also reportedly taken shots together and have a “special handshake” that was captured on camera on October 22 and went viral.
Brittany also received one of the commemorative gift baskets that Swift distributed for the release of the 1989 (Taylor’s Version) album this week. On Saturday, the NFL star’s wife showed off the basket’s contents in an Instagram Story playing “Wildest Dreams.”
It’s contents included a copy of the album, a limited edition 1989 cardigan, and a handwritten note.
All that could be seen of the note that was legible are the words, “Oh hi! As I re-release and reclaim my beloved 1989 album, I wanted to send you..”
An insider told US Weekly earlier in October, “Brittany is thrilled to be building a genuine friendship with Taylor.”
“They’ve hung out a couple of times and have grown fairly close in a short period of time,’ the insider continued,” the source continued. “Brittany thinks Taylor is so sweet, and down to earth, and they get along really great.”
And it helps that Kelce and Patrick are close.
“The fact that Patrick and Travis are best friends makes things even better,” they explained. “[Brittany and Taylor] are having a blast and love cheering on their men together.”
