How to clean makeup brushes

Knowledge regarding the usage of correct make up brushes is very common but lesser known and practices fact is the cleansing of those brushes. Make up brushes should be washed and cleaned regularly. Bits of makeup, oil and dirt from your skin and at times even bacteria get trapped in the brushes and can creates troubles for your skin when same brushes are used time and again. Even replacing the brushes with new ones cannot be very often because good quality brushes are expensive. Therefore it is better to make it a part of your routine to clean and wash your makeup brushes. It is recommended to wash them weekly or so depending on your frequency of usage.
Cleaning make up brushes does not take a lot of time. So you do not need to worry. It even does not require any special cleaning agents. Cleaning them is a very simple and easy process. Take a shallow bowl and hold your brush in the running luke warm water to make it free from make-up residues. Make sure the brushes are angled downward and avoid its bamboo stick to interact with water. As it may damage the brush or the water may loosen the glue on the part where the head of the brush meets its handle.
Now fill the bowl with luke warm water, hot water may damage bristles of the brush. Add a dab of baby shampoo on the bristles and swirl the tip of the brush in water gently. You can also swirl the brush in an empty bowl or on your palm first to work up lather. Avoid damaging the shape of the brush in the process. Now, rinse the brush tip again in the running water until the lather vanishes. After rinsing it several times, clean the brush with a lint free cloth. Instead of baby shampoo, specific brush cleaning shampoos are also available. After cleaning the brushes you can lay them to on a flat surface and let them dry.
