Denim jeans are an absolute staple in wardrobes around the world, in all varieties of styles, variations of denim as well as colors. Dressed up, dressed down or somewhere in between there is a color, denim and style to suit every occasion.
Skinny Jeans:
Skinny jeans are probably the most popular by today’s standards and work well in almost all situations depending on what your dress them with, their color wash and what you wear on your feet. For a more casual look you can rock the ripped jeans look, with many pairs being offered with rips at the knees. If rips are not your thing, try for something fully formed but in a light wash color. Light wash denims are great throughout the summer and work well as a more casual look denim, reserving the dark wash for more formal or semi-formal occasions. Pair casual skinny jeans with t-shirts, relaxed shirts and casual canvas shoes. Dark wash skinny jeans look great casually too but they also work extremely well in more semi-formal setting, think a night out in a restaurant or bar where formal attire is not expected. Pair with a great dressy top and heels or heeled sandals (or boots in the winter). One of the great things about skinny jeans is how great they look with boots in the winter months, easily tucking in and creating smooth lines.
Boyfriend Jeans:
Boyfriend jeans have become the new favorite amongst fashionista’s on what is the most comfortable pair of jeans. Straight legged, not tight, relaxed and casual (and sometimes ripped), boyfriend jeans are your go to pair of jeans when you are looking for ultimate comfort and want to look casual. Pair with casual tops and relaxed canvas on your feet.
Cropped Jeans:
Cropped jeans are a great summer alternative, if it is not warm enough for shorts why not throw on some cropped jeans. They look brilliant with t-shirts and summer tops, and paired on the bottom with flip flops or flat sandals.
Bootcut Jeans:
Bootcut jeans used to be big until skinny jeans swept in and took over, but they are still on the market. If you are looking for a pair of jeans which fit tightly and flare slightly at the bottom that you can wear over the top of your boots then bootcut is your style.
Straight leg Jeans:
Very similar to boyfriend jeans but not always as relaxed, straight leg jeans are making a comeback as the bridge between skinny jeans and boyfriend jeans. They work brilliantly in both a casual and semi-formal setting, pair with relaxed sneakers, sandals, heels, wedges and boots. Straight leg jeans are for the girl who wants to blend the fitted with the unfitted, the casual with the smart and play it safe on the middle road.
Denim shorts:
Not really jeans, but denim nonetheless. If you are a denim lover you cannot miss out on a pair of denim shorts for the summer. When your jean wearing days are behind you until fall make sure you grab yourself a pair of denim shorts or cut-offs.
