With snow on the ground in many ski resorts already skiing and snowboarding season is well and truly upon us, and if you are planning on taking to the slopes this winter you might already be thinking of what you might need to pack for a week on the slopes. Whether you prefer to ski or snowboard you will want to remember that it is not just your time on the slopes you need to pack for, but instead will want to pack for those cold and cosy night in the lodge as well as days relaxing while grabbing a hot chocolate in the snow.
First things first, you will want to start with a great base layer on both your top and bottom halves. On your top half a warm, wool blend base layer with long sleeves. This will keep your warm in the cold weather and helps to keep you insulated against the cold while also protecting you against the sun with SPF 50. While we are talking about base layers, on your bottom half you will want to select a pair of warm long base layer leggings which will help to keep you protected while you are out on the slopes by keeping you insulated against the cold and protecting you against the sun with SPF 50. Also on top you will want to add a fleece type top to provide you with an extra layer of warmth before you put your coat on, which comes with thumb loops.
A pair of ski trousers are an absolute essential and these Ski and Snowboarding trousers have a two layer shell which is perfect whichever sport you prefer. They are waterproof, insulated and have side zips to help you with putting on your boots. They also have integrated gaiters to keep the snow out. On top you will want to make sure you get yourself a high quality ski jacket. This will help to keep you warm and insulated, as well as being waterproof against the snow.
Accessories wise you will not want to be without a neck gaiter to keep the wind chill off of your neck. You will also want to invest in a beanie hat to keep your head and ears warm and to stop any heat from your body escaping through your head. Also a pair of fleece mittens are perfect to keep your hands warm and are great for holding onto ski poles if skiing is your sport.
