Summer brings with it all kinds of conundrums and one of the most debated is “which hat suits me best”. Now for many of us we spend the year avoiding hats, only to succumb in the depths of winter when it feels as though the only other option is that we may lose our ears to frost bite. So when summer comes round and wearing a hat is in our best interests (to help keep that pesky sun off our heads and fight off the nasty UV rays) we are not really too sure on what suits us and what does not. So to help you out here is a guide to help you pick the right hat for you this summer.

 

Peaked cap: The peaked cap or baseball cap as it is more commonly known, is a great option for the more relaxed girl and as an added bonus they suit pretty much any face shape. It is easy to pack into your suitcase or bag as well, so makes for a great option when travelling to some of the more far flung places on the planet.

Fedora hat: A fedora hat is made from either straw or felt and has a wide brim with an indented top. If you have an oval shaped face a fedora will look brilliant on you. Oval is the most common face shape and you will find a wide range of hats to suit your face.

Trilby hat: A trilby hat is often a soft hat, usually made from either felt or straw, with a narrow brim and an indented top. A heart shaped face will really suit a trilby hat, the narrow brim is extremely flattering, compared to a wider brim which will give the illusion of a pointier chin.

Panama hat: A panama hat is a wide brimmed have made from straw and traditionally is made from leaves from a particular palm tree. A panama hat will suit you fantastically if you have a rounder face which will help narrow and elongate your face.

Straw sun hat: The traditional big floppy sunhat is always a failsafe hat, although not always easy to take with you if you are travelling as it is almost impossible to pack and is likely to get damaged in the luggage bins on a plane. Pick the floppy straw sun hat if you want to look elegant and classy on your summer vacation. If you have a square shaped face a wide brimmed hat will look fantastic on you as it will soften the sometimes stronger angles of your face. This is a great styled hat as it will keep your well protected from the sun too.
