Justin Bieber opened up last night on Instagram about how he has been doing, giving his first real comments since reports broke in February that he was seeking treatment for depression. Bieber was candid in his Insta, writing that he has been having a hard time but that he was also confident he’d “bounce back.”
“Just wanted to keep you guys updated a little bit hopefully what I’m going through will resonate with you guys,” he wrote. “Been struggling a lot. Just feeling super disconnected and weird.. I always bounce back so I’m not worried just wanted to reach out and ask for your guys to pray for me. God is faithful and ur prayers really work thanks .. the most human season I’ve ever been in facing my stuff head on..”
This is one of Bieber’s most personal Instagram captions. While Bieber has posted on the platform more lately, he usually puts no captions on his photos or very short ones that are more pithy than divulging. Bieber last opened up about his personal life on the platform when he announced his engagement to Hailey Baldwin in July.
Sources, by the way, have made it clear to outlets that Bieber’s depression issues aren’t at all related to his new marriage. In fact, Baldwin “pushed” Bieber to get help and is a big motivating factor for him in treatment.
A source close to Bieber told People last month that “he wants to be the best possible husband for Hailey. It’s one thing to have your issues when you’re single, but when you’re married, there’s two people’s happiness at stake. He’s working on himself so that he can be a good partner to her.”
