Kate Middleton and Prince William gave the world the nicest Sunday evening gift: three new photos of Prince George to mark George’s sixth birthday tomorrow. Two were taken in the Kensington Palace Gardens by the Duchess of Cambridge herself and show the prince’s sporty side off.
“⚽️ Happy Birthday Prince George!” Kensington Palace wrote on its Instagram. “The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge are very pleased to share new photographs of Prince George to mark His Royal Highness’s sixth birthday. This photograph was taken recently in the garden of their home at Kensington Palace by The Duchess of Cambridge. Thank you everyone for all your lovely messages! “
Kensington Palace also shared one photo of Prince George taken by Kate while the family was on holiday:
The release of George’s birthday photos this evening comes hours after The Sun published a lengthy report about what the prince is like at age six. He is sweet, a little shyer than his sister Princess Charlotte, and adores his mother.
“Considering the huge wealth and privilege at his disposal, some people might be surprised to hear that George’s favorite things are spending time with his mom, cooking pizzas from scratch and pottering about in the garden,” a source told The Sun. “The Prince of Wales, his grandad, has been particularly delighted to see how George has taken to nature and the great outdoors.”
ELLE.com reported earlier this year that both Charlotte and George are very close to Kate. Whenever Kate comes home from an engagement or work, George and Charlotte “come running out the front door and they’re like, ‘Mummy, mummy, mummy,'” a source said. “Nanny’s in the door, but they don’t care because Mummy’s come home. They’re so excited that their mum is back from wherever.”
