Kiernan Shipka may have a new man in her life. The actress is sparking rumors that she’s dating director Christian Coppola after the pair attended the Fendi show in Rome. Shipka posted a photo of the two on Instagram writing, “MY LOVE @ccopp ❤️💋 #FendiFriends #FendiCouture #TheDawnOfRomanity”

Shipka even responded to some comments on the post inquiring about her current romantic status, though she kept it vague. One commenter wrote, “I’m confused are they dating?” which she replied with three kissy face emojis. And in response to another comment declaring “he is your boyfriend,” she simply responded with the flame emoji.

While Christian Coppola may have a very famous last name, his relationship to the Hollywood family is distant at best. In an interview with Variety in 2018, Coppola cleared up how he fits into the family of famed directors.

“I’m not close enough to get invited for Thanksgiving dinner,” he said. “There’s no real direct connection. I really see myself as my own entity and I want to tell my stories.”

The 26-year-old director attended New York University’s Tisch Film School, where his thesis film Him was included in the 2017 Outfest film festival.

“Having the name used to make me uneasy,” he added, discussing his then-upcoming film Daddy. “Now, it’s kind of irrelevant because I’ve got to get this film finished and it’s taking up most of my time. If you see a guy nervously pacing the street in the middle of the night, it’s probably me.”
