Leonardo DiCaprio and his girlfriend Camila Morrone have kept their relationship private for the year and half they’ve been together. But Morrone, 22, broke her silence today about the hate she has gotten on Instagram for being DiCaprio’s latest younger model girlfriend.
Morrone had posted an Instagram of iconic old Hollywood couple Lauren Bacall and Humphrey Bogart, writing, “A love like this.” Assuming she was comparing her and DiCaprio’s romance to theirs, some suggested that DiCaprio, who is 44, would dump her before she turns 25, E! pointed out. DiCaprio has famously never dated a woman over 25. “You only have a couple more years before he dumps you girl! Collect your bag,” one wrote. “Leo only cares about your body,” a second commented.
Morrone posted an Instagram Live video, addressing the comments she was receiving. “Good morning people and happy Friday,” she started. “I just read some of the comments on my Instagram and my God, people are so mean. And like full of anger for people they know nothing about. I guess I just hope on this Friday that people learn to live with a little less hatred and place their time and interest elsewhere because living without hatred feels pretty good.”
Morrone’s Instagram Story comes days after People reported that she and DiCaprio are very committed to each other. “They seem pretty serious,” an insider told the outlet. “It’s definitely not a casual relationship. Camila spends a lot of time at his house.”
It’s been like this for some time now, the source added. “Camila is long known as Leo’s girlfriend,” the source said. “And Leo introduced her to both of his parents long ago.”
