By March 31, Meghan Markle and Prince Harry are officially free of their roles as senior members of the royal family. Now that Harry has returned home from the U.K., he, Meghan and their son, Archie, are able to look forward to the future. A source told People that the family of three is expected to be spending some time in Los Angeles this summer.
Meghan is from Los Angeles, and her mother, Doria Ragland, lives in the area, so it makes sense that she’d want Archie to spend some time with his maternal grandmother.
“They love being in Canada, but they are looking at houses in L.A. too,” a source in the couple’s circle told People. “They’ll likely have houses in both places.”
Another royal insider told the magazine that this new plan is something the couple, who will celebrate their second wedding anniversary in May, have had in mind.
“This is what Meghan and Harry have always wanted—to create their own life,” the source said. “It’s got to feel like an immense relief to get out of the U.K. and go down their own path.”
Since Harry and Meghan announced they were stepping back from royal life, their fans have had a lot of questions about what life will look like for them now. One big question has been about the relationship between Harry and his older brother, Prince William.
A source told People that things between the two brothers will be “forever changed. They won’t get back to the way they were. Harry is looking straight ahead at his future with his family. He’s not looking back.”
In January, William spoke out about Harry and Meghan’s royal exit and how he feels about having his brother, whose always been by his side, living outside of the U.K.
“I’ve put my arm around my brother all our lives, and I can’t do that anymore…I’m sad about that,” he told a friend, per The Times. He went on: “All we can do, and all I can do, is try and support them and hope that the time comes when we’re all singing from the same page. I want everyone to play on the team.”
