The big moment is here: Meghan Markle and Prince Harry just arrived at the Endeavour Fund Awards, their first joint event since they announced their plans to step back from their senior royal family roles in January. Meghan wore a blue pencil dress while Harry complemeneted her in a sharp blue suit.
This is the first of several events Meghan and Harry will be doing while in England. These are their final events as working royal family members; their transition out of their roles will officially begin on March 31.
The Duke and Duchess of Sussex will be attending the Mountbatten Festival of Music on March 7 and the Commonwealth Day Westminster Abbey service on March 9. Kate Middleton and Prince William will join them at the Commonwealth Day service, along with the Queen and other senior royal family members.
Meghan and Harry have solo events as well. Meghan is expected to attend an event for International Women’s Day on March 8, and Harry will attend the opening of the Silverstone Experience museum on March 6. Meghan is additionally rumored to be making an appearance at British Vogue’s Forces For Change event on Saturday.
After these events, Meghan and Harry are expected to return to Canada, where the couple has been living since they announced their decision to step back from their royal duties. The couple said in their January 8 announcement that they intend to “balance our time between the United Kingdom and North America, continuing to honour our duty to The Queen, the Commonwealth, and our patronages. This geographic balance will enable us to raise our son with an appreciation for the royal tradition into which he was born, while also providing our family with the space to focus on the next chapter, including the launch of our new charitable entity.”
