Miley Cyrus and Liam Hemsworth’s separation has sparked a lot of stories in media outlets courtesy of sources close to the couple talking about their various issues. Cyrus was photographed kissing Kaitlynn Carter, and Hemsworth was reportedly “blindsided” by the photos, a source told E!. People reported that Cyrus struggled with Hemsworth’s alleged secret partying and dark moods, that Hemsworth wasn’t just the “chill surfer dude” everyone thought he was.

A lot of different takes have come out…and all that noise has had a real toll on Cyrus and Hemsworth’s split, according to E!. Cyrus did originally ask for a break, but she’s not about to give up on them. Reconciliation may be harder now than it was a week ago though.

As E!’s new source tonight explained, “They were just taking a break, but now it is much more of a serious split. They were in a rough spot and their lifestyles were not aligning. But he had hope they would find a way to reconnect and hadn’t given up. This whole thing has taken things to a new level and really upset him. He was blindsided and extremely hurt by the allegations against him in the press. He had no idea any of this was coming.”

People reported yesterday that Cyrus is in no rush to file for divorce. E!’s source echoed that. “Miley has not been talking to an attorney or thinking about divorce,” the source said. “She wanted the marriage to work and is still willing to give it time. But going through this in the public eye has made things a lot messier and a lot more difficult. She doesn’t really know what to do or what will happen next.” With any luck, the leaks from both sides’ sources will stop for a bit.
