Selena Gomez is officially off the market. The singer, actress, and Rare Beauty founder is engaged to Benny Blanco, the man she called the “love of my life” in July. She shared the happy news on Instagram in a carousel featuring a close-up photo of her marquise diamond, a picnic with Taco Bell, and a sweet caption: “forever begins now..” Blanco sweetly commented, “hey wait… that’s my wife.” The couple began dating in June 2023 and went public with their relationship last December.
In the months since, Gomez has been very open about how exceptionally happy Blanco makes her. For his birthday in March, she shared a glowing tribute to him on Instagram: “Your emotional endurance, positive disposition, unbelievable talent (that blows me away), undeniable humor and loving, kind heart absolutely kill me. I love you @itsbennyblanco 🎂🥹,” she wrote.
Blanco, meanwhile, told Howard Stern in May that he could see himself marrying and starting a family with Gomez. The radio host asked point-blank if Blanco would propose; he dodged the question and replied, “When I look at her, I do say, I’m always just like, ‘I don’t know a world where it could be better than this.’” Stern then asked if Blanco had a ring. He replied, “I don’t have anything. I’ve got no shoes on. I’ve got to get my act together.”
Shortly after that interview came out, Time magazine asked Gomez how she felt about Blanco publicly declaring that he would marry her. She replied, “He can’t lie to save his life. If he’s asked a question, he’ll answer it.”
She then shared that she is less forthcoming when it comes to those closest to her: “I know what people can do to people I love,” she told the outlet. “My own fans, who I adore and feel like have shaped who I am, will say the most hurtful things to me about how I live my life. But he has the strength in him that none of that noise fazes him. It’s really impressive, and I just cherish every moment with him.”
