Oversized bags were a huge trend about a decade ago: everyone had big bags that they could almost fit inside of. While those big bags have gone out of favor (probably because everyone needed to go to chiropractors), there is still a way for them to be relevant: if you change your bag frequently.
Carrying a big bag every day might not be great for muscular-skeletal health, but it can be extremely helpful in some situations:
Something Great for Nearby Travel
Have a lot to take with you on a daily basis? A sturdy, well-made tote that is large can help you to get everything you need inside. If you travel, the need to have a bag that stands up on its own and still holds a lot of stuff is a must. You want to have something that will withstand some of the abuse that travel can have, so make sure to get something that will stand up to Ubers, trains, planes, and public transportation.
Play up the Kitsch
Don’t think that just because you have a larger bag doesn’t mean that you can’t have some great details added onto it. Too often, big bags are understated. Instead of falling in line with everyone else, move forward with your fashion and show off. Get a big bag that has sequins or glitter, find a clutch that has great artwork on it, or just get something that will contrast with the outfit that you are planning.
There are so many options out there to make your bag stand out – the sky is the limit.
Structured
A bigger bag that is structured isn’t as common of a find – and you will look super stylish carrying one. Structure helps the bag to keep its shape and makes it look more professional. This means you can use a bigger bag to carry your laptop or hold your important paperwork when you go in for a meeting without worrying about looking sloppy.

For Your Gym Clothing
Want something a little more chic than a duffle bag? Get yourself an oversized bag that you can throw your gym clothes into – no one will guess what is inside. This might seem silly, but with so many of us going from the gym to work to dinner without going home, having a bag that we feel comfortable carrying might make us want to go to the gym more.
What oversized bag are you going to add to your wardrobe this year?
