Steve Harrington’s full, long hair is no more. Stranger Things actor Joe Keery debuted a much shorter bowl cut at a Chanel dinner last night. It is a very, very different look on him:
Keery spoke to Esquire in October 2017 about the extensive upkeep of his old hairstyle and how they got it to look the way it did on the show. “Well, the cut’s good,” he started. “And if the haircut is good, that’s half the job. It’s just a blow-dry with stuff in the back. Sarah Hindsgaul, who is the head of hair, is totally killer. She’s the best. She does the hair for the entire cast, and you can see how accurate and subtle her work is. It’s not, like, in-your-face ‘80s hair; it’s really nice and tasteful. She’s the hair guru.”
He also touched on the Farrah Fawcett’s Fabergé Organics hairspray his character swears by in the show. “I think they’ve actually discontinued [Fabergé Organics],” he said. “You can probably find it on ebay or something. Prices will probably jack up in the next week or two. Or maybe Netflix will reissue it.”
Stranger Things season four has not been confirmed yet. But one of the show’s co-creators, Ross Duffer, told Entertainment Weekly in July that any potential fourth season would be vastly different than season 3. “We don’t want to write ourselves in a corner so we try to have these early discussions with the writers just to make sure that we’re setting ourselves up to go in the right direction,” Duffer said. “We don’t know a lot, but we do know a lot of the big broad strokes. At the end of season two, we knew about Billy. We knew that the Russians were going to come in. We didn’t know the mall and stuff, but again, we know these big broad strokes. That’s sort of where we are in season four. We have the big broad strokes. It’s just now about filling in those lines in the details. We’re pretty excited about where it’s potentially going to go. Again, like we said, it’s going to feel very different than this season. But I think that’s the right thing to do and I think it’ll be exciting.”
