The secret Tom Holland and Zendaya romance that some people liked to believe in was just further shut down by reality today. TMZ published photographs this morning of Holland out in Hyde Park with a blonde woman. They appeared to be on a date, with the two being very cuddly. In one shot, they held hands.
While Holland hasn’t commented on the rumors, Holland did tell ELLE in its issue this month that he wasn’t romantically involved with anyone…so yes, he and Zendaya really were and are just friends. Holland called himself “definitely a relationship person. I’m not the fleeting type at all; it’s not my way of life.”
Dating rumors about Holland and Zendaya, who play love interests in the latest Spider-Man film, began two years ago, back in July 2017. People reported at the time that yes, they were romantically involved on the down low. “They started seeing each other while they were filming Spider-Man,” one source said. “They’ve been super careful to keep it private and out of the public eye, but they’ve gone on vacations with each other and try and spend as much time as possible with one another.”
A second source said, “They’re both really ambitious, and they challenge each other—but, most importantly, they make each other crack up. They seem to have a really similar sense of humor and love joking around together. They have great banter back and forth.”
Holland and Zendaya shut down dating rumors then by making fun of the source’s comments on Twitter. Zendaya wrote, “Wait wait…my favorite is when it says we go on vacations together HA! I haven’t been on a vacation in years! hbu?”
And Holland replied, “Does the press tour count?”
