Jennifer Aniston and Justin Theroux recently lost one of the dogs they shared, Dolly. Theroux shared a glimpse of them saying goodbye to her, and Entertainment Tonight spoke to a source about how things are between the two exes a year and a half after their breakup. They remain committed to their dogs and on good terms. (Aniston adopted Dolly before they started dating, the outlet added, and stayed with Aniston in Los Angeles after they split.)
“They differed on a lot of things—where to live, how to handle the paparazzi, the types of hotels to stay in, but one thing they were always on the same page about was their dogs,” the source said. “They loved their animals and felt strongly about choosing rescue dogs. No expense was spared; the dogs had great care. People used to joke that the dogs had a better life than they did!”
Aniston and Theroux have “no bad blood” these days, the source said. They don’t hang out often, but they remain good friends, love their dogs, and have an open-door policy with their pets.
In his Instagram tribute to Dolly, Theroux wrote, “Tonight, at sunset, after a heroic struggle… our most loyal family member and protector, Dolly A. laid down her sword and shield. 🐺💔 She was surrounded by her entire family. ‘The one that never deserts, the one that never proves ungrateful… is the dog— faithful and true, even in death.’ -George Vest.” He ended the post by writing, “Rest In Peace Dolly.”
