Miley Cyrus may have been the one to ask for a break in her marriage to Liam Hemsworth, but according to People, she isn’t ready to file for divorce and completely give up on reconciliation. Multiple sources told the outlet that Cyrus has no plans to terminate her marriage to Hemsworth any time soon.
A source explained this is because it’s not a full-fledge, we’re-over-for-good split. “They are having a break right now because they needed it,” a source close to Cyrus said. “It was a bad situation with a lot of disagreements. They both agreed it’s better to spend time apart, but this doesn’t mean their relationship is completely over.”
The source added that they’ve been in situations like this before where they’ve split and “found their way back together again.” Neither Cyrus nor Hemsworth have given up on their relationship entirely at this point.
“They are great together when they are happy,” the source said. “There is absolutely hope that they will get back together again.”
People’s Cyrus source echoes what Entertainment Tonight‘s source said about Hemsworth’s stance on their future yesterday. “Miley and Liam love each other and always will,” the source started. “Most of their friends feel they’ll be back together. No one thinks Miley and Kaitlynn [Carter, Brody Jenner’s ex-wife who Cyrus was photographed kissing in Italy] are in a real relationship, they believe it’s more fun on vacation.”
