You can count on Zendaya to go big when dressing for a red carpet event, especially one where she is being honored. The Euphoria actress arrived at ELLE’s 2019 Women in Hollywood event wearing literally all the fashion: her outfit has a blazer, a button-up, a skirt, pants, heels, and a belt. She accessorized minimally, wearing a choker and stud earrings.
Zendaya is set to give a speech at the Los Angeles event, along with this year’s other honorees, including Mindy Kaling, Nicole Kidman, and Dolly Parton.
In Zendaya’s Women in Hollywood interview for ELLE, the actress spoke candidly about her struggles with anxiety and how she can be hard on herself. “Even though Euphoria coming out was amazing and exciting, it was also extremely stressful,” she said. “It gave me a lot of anxiety every week. That’s something I deal with; I have anxiety. I already know after this interview is over, I’m going to spiral about it for weeks.”
Zendaya said she has learned to trust herself more now as she has moved from Disney child star to adult actress. But she sets her bar high: “I never want to mess up,” she said. “I’m trying to be the best version of myself without overapplying pressure. Then I start spiraling.”
“I know, I’m super hard on myself,” she continued, adding she is glad that people admire her work though. “People actually saying I did a good job at my craft…it’s like, ‘Damn, I did work hard. I’m glad you see that.’I should finally own that; it’s liberating. I feel lucky.”
